We are Asheville and Western North Carolina’s premier off-road driving experience, featuring Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo Off-Road Vehicles. Located just 20 minutes north of our Downtown Asheville offices (at The Adventure Center of Asheville), our Barnardsville location provides the ultimate adventure and camping destination.

The 220 acre Adventure Mountain property has a vast history on this steep mountain of homesteading, farming, tree harvesting, and now protection and recovery. Although the off road tour is an adventure it is also an opportunity to see and learn the challenges and successes of farming and living off of the steep and rocky lands of the historic Appalachian Mountains of Western NC.

GO Off-Roading

Our Can-Am Maverick X3 Off-Road Side by Sides combine power and function to provide new or experienced drivers with a great adventure. Although they can go fast, our tours are not focused on speed but on learning and practicing the skills of managing challenges inherent in off-roading such as maneuvering around and over obstacles, climbing steep grades but also crawling down steep gradients, selecting the best course to traverse difficult spots successfully, and understanding capabilities of the ORV such as lateral stability, clearance, wheel locking and maneuvering capabilities.

Reservations are required. You may book online. Check-In will be at the building adjacent to the parking area (not at the house.) Check-In Time is 30 minutes before your tour time. Tours operate on time. There are no refunds for late arrivals. Please plan plenty of time for travel and check-in.

The future at Adventure Mountain Resort(AMR) is coming this year with our elevated Canopy Camping Cabanas. What is a Canopy Camping Cabana, you might ask? Good question because they currently don’t exist anywhere since we at AMR invented them. Our vision is that it’s an elevated tent platform. (Think tree house for camping!) A portion of the platform will be covered by a cabana complete with an area undercover to sit, cook (and sleep if the weather says “not a good night for tents!!”) The camping portion of the aerial platform will be covered in astroturf for comfortable camping. Each platform is positioned with huge views through and over the trees. Our first units will be built at the Basecamp area of Adventure Mountain. Good news is they come with a door to lock and a cabinet to secure your food & stuff while you are out adventuring. A ground-based pavilion will be close by with water, power, a grill, and outdoor shower. Your stay includes access to 200+ acres to explore & enjoy.

We’re currently building a series of elevated camping platforms and private campsites designed to give you an unforgettable mountain experience. Picture waking up to panoramic views, breathing in the crisp mountain air, and watching the sun rise over the ridges—all just 20 minutes from downtown Asheville.
